Great news! Jim served his apprenticeship at Ipswich and will go on to take QPR into the Premiership. Let's hope Ipswich get there too.
Keith Adams
This is fantastic news for Jim - He was a fantastic servant to ITFC and fully deserves a great future at QPR - I wish him all the best!
natasha laisure, ipswich
Well good luck to him! Apart from when we (ipswich) play qpr! I hope he gets the reception he deserves when he returns to portman road.
stephen bailey, Ipswich
Good luck to Jim, it was time for him to leave Portman Road but I do hope he does well in West London. The Championship will be exciting next season, Roll on August !
Don Welsh
good luck jim in your new job maybe and look foward to se you again as a manger aganist ipswich next seson well done jim
alex elmy
Good Luck Jim. Hope it works out for you.
John Cook
great news jim is a man who is good for the game i wish him all the best at qpr until that is they play us if he acheives anywhere near what he did at ipswich qpr supporters have a lot to look forward to, lets hope he doesnt raid this club for players with all the money he is supposed to have
peter samuels
Well there you go. OPR for promotion, current Ipswich players to move to Loftus road, sorry the loan players have gone back to Fulham et al. No more Irish players available for Ipswich. Maybe Thatcher will move on and he has all those released personnel to grab for his squad. I thought that QPR had money and would be pushing for the Premier. Why have they appointed Magilton? Is John Gorman as to be his assistant or is Klug on his way??? No I am still asleep and I am only dreaming that Roy Keane is ITFC boss. Nekt nightmare Ipswitch v QPR playoff final!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Nigel Clark
wasted £12m of Ipswich's money. Will he do the same at QPR. Me thinks YES! He couldnt do it with town, what makes people think he will do it with QPR?
Anthony Hawkins
i,m really pleased for jim he did a great job at ipswich and he can take what he learned and improve his managerial skills at qpr.good luck and best wishes jim for the future.
Shirley Emsden, lowestoft
Wish Jim all the best except of coursed against Ipswich. Was a great saervantp to us and nice to see him land a job so soon. Hope he is prepared for a tough task at rangers
daire crosbie
This is a suprising appointment, given the fact that Jim's main criticism from fans was the money he spent without taking the team forward. Clearly he'll be backed by the owners with money but will he be able to spend in more wisely than he did at town by improving QPR on the pitch? Time will tell. Until then Jim, good luck!
Peter Knight
Alan Horne must be on holiday...
Andrew Mehen
good luck jim, i hope you come and give us a right tonking for all the boo boys. they said you bought bad but they are still there. keane blew £80m at sunderland and they had to give them away!! jim magilton WILL become a good manager i have no doubts,
JOHN WOODAGE
So that's one less team that we need to worry about next season...QPR are doomed to mid-table mediocrity. I mean I'm pleased for Jim but I don't think he's a winning manager.
Charley Bolding-Smith
Will be looking out for you in the new season Jim, Good Luck!
Kyle Owen
I doubt he will last 6months the mans not gota clue dosnt say much for othercandidates ?
john reynolds
Jim is continuing his appenticeship in football management and I expect he will have a few difficult times at QPR. However Jim does have a future in football management and is a real football character with much to offer with his passion and humour. Good luck Jim on the stage of your career.
Billy Knowbend
It will be interesting to see how Jim reacts to Flavio Briatore coming down to get involved in team talks. Expect some ITFC staff moving as the new regime turn up the gas at Portman Road. Jim is a good guy and deserves success.
John Rason
He will do no more for them than he did for us. Why on earth has the so-called richest club in the world opted for him baffles me, there is no way he can achieve anything here. 8 managers in a few years speaks volumes and I suspect Jim will fall foul to the same fate. A wise money making decision for Jim, poor decision for a club with such ambition - Their fans must be gutted! ha ha! This is definately not a case of one mans rubbish is another mans treasure... Nb: Andrew Mehan is spot on, in the words of Delia: Alan Horne, where are you?!?!?! ha ha! Bloooooooooo Army!
C D, Ipswich
Interesting that Jim wants to take players from Ipswich who did not seem to want to play for him at while he was here. that said, it would be typical if they came here and gave us a spanking. I wish him well, but where were all these people making nice comments when he needed their support a few months ago?
